Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Nov 7, 2024

    Arrival in Jawai and first safari

    Today, all guests arrive in Jawai around lunch time and check-in at our base for the next 3 days. Following a lunch, we will depart on our first safari and return back to the lodge after sunset. Dinner and overnight.

  • Day 2, 3 - Nov 8-9, 2024

    Morning and evening safaris

    Over the next 2 full days, we will maximise our time on safari visiting different locations looking for Leopards with a primary focus on Leopard Cubs.

    Our morning safari would start before sunrise returning back in time for breakfast. After lunch, we set out again around 4 pm. The evening safari stretches into dusk and we return after sunset.

    In the midday, there would be ample time to download, review and process images, catchup on some or rest or just relax in our abode in between the rocky hills.

  • Day 4 - Nov 10, 2024

    Morning safari and Departure

    Today, is our last day in the hills. We will spend our morning on a safari. Following breakfast, checkout and departure.

    This tour commences and ends at Jawai on Nov 7th at lunch time and on Nov 10th after breakfast respectively. Transfers from the nearest airports Udaipur or Jodhpur can be arranged on extra basis at actuals. Please talk to us for more information.

FAQ

What weather can we expect?

During this time of year, the weather is likely to be cold and chances of rain are almost nil. A fleece, jacket, gloves and and a warm hat are highly recommended.

How many people are on the tour?

This tour is planned to keep the group size small to a maximum of 7 pax and no more than 4 guests or 3 guests + the tour leader in a safari car.

How do we reach Jawai?

The nearest railway station in Jawai Bandh at 20 km away. Falna Railway station is 30 km away. Udaipur Airport is 150 km and Jodhpur airport is 165 km away. Taxis can be arranged at actual extra cost and on car pooling basis with other guests.

What equipment is required?

In Jawai, having a long focal length of around 600mm is highly recommended. Lenses like 180-600mm or 200-500mm are ideal. Prime lenses including 400mm, 600mm and 800mm lenses are great choices too. Carrying a teleconverter can also be beneficial. Having a wide angle lens would be handy to capture the landscapes of Jawai.
