Kanha National Park and Tiger Reserve were one of India’s first 9 tiger reserves to be declared for Project Tiger in 1973. With an area of 940 sq. km. Kanha is nestled in the Maikal range of the Satpuras in Madhya Pradesh. The landscapes and the surrounding meadows along with the wooded strands and the dense maroons of forests offer magnanimous sightseeing and photography experiences for nature lovers. This vivacious land has also been the source of inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book
Kanha is the last home to the hard land hoof swamp deer or Barasingha. The Barasingha and the Royal Bengal Tiger are both a symbol of pride for the forests of Kanha. Indian Gaur, Wild Dogs, Leopards, Sloth Bears, Jackals, Foxes, and a variety of other mammals call Kanha their home. About 300 species of birds have been recorded in the park.

Day 1
Arrival and transfer to Kanha
The nearest airports to Kanha are located in Raipur or Nagpur. Depending on the choice of hotels, our team will advise you on the nearest airports to plan your journey.
Today, on arrival at Nagpur or Raipur, be escorted to your private transfer for a 5-hour drive to your jungle lodge in Kanha. On arrival, check in and relax for the rest of the day.
Day 2-3
Morning and afternoon safaris
Over the next 2 days, explore different parts of Kanha National Park on 2 daily game drives. During your morning safari, a packed breakfast will be carried and served inside the park.
Return to the lodge around mid-day. Due to the dry weather conditions in Central India, the park’s wildlife is not very active between mid-day and late afternoon.
Enjoy a sumptuous lunch at the lodge and rest a bit in the sanctuary of your accommodation. In the late afternoon, it is time for the second safari of the day. Spend the rest of the afternoon in the park and return back to the lodge at sunset. Following dinner, overnight in your lodge at Kanha.
Day 4
Departure
Guests can choose to go on one last safari before check-out and begin the day with leisurely. Today, guests will be transferred back to airport/railway station for their travel back home or to an onward destination.

Kanha has been divided into a few zones. Some zones are better than the others in terms of being more scenic and at the same harboring more wildlife and higher possibilities of sightings Big Cats. Due to these destinations being very popular, it is highly recommended to book your Kanha Tiger safari permits at least 4 months before the trip. Central Indian parks like Kanha are good throughout the year. The summer months (March-June) are relatively more productive than winter as Wildlife are drawn to a few waterholes in the park to beat the heat.
The airports of Nagpur and Raipur are located at almost the same distances from Kanha but on either side of the park. Jabalpur is another available option to travel to Kanha.
